Do your headlights have a foggy-hazy look to them? Maybe you’ve noticed your visibility at night or during the rainy times is much lower (thank you Arizona weather). No worries, you don’t have to replace them, nor do you have to open up your lens (as many people think the haziness is from the inside of the lens. Most of the time it’s not). Book a Headlight Restoration service with Mauro’s Premium Mobile Auto Detailing.
We don’t use a generic headlight repair kit that you find at your local auto parts store. We go through a full 8-step sanding, compounding, polishing, and protection process to offer the best results.
By sanding your headlights, we’re removing the old layer of clear coat that has failed and oxidized (which leads to the yellow-foggy look). Then we’ll compound and polish to bring them back to a like-new condition. Finally, for protection, we’ll apply a 1-year ceramic coating.
Notice: We no longer offer headlight restorations as a stand-alone service. It’ll need to be combined with at least one other service.
Price may vary based on size and condition of headlights.

Do you come to me?
We offer a shop-based services. We do not offer headlight restoration as a standalone service. You would have to pair this with another service like a Wash and Wax.
How long does this service take?
It depends on the size and condition, but it typically takes 45 to 90 minutes to complete. If the condition is severe, it’ll take longer.
Can you restore any headlights?
Like many things, once the headlights get to a certain point, there is only so much we can do to restore them to a like-new condition. Your headlights can look better after we’re done, but there can also be permanent damage.
Why do my lens get ugly?
Your headlights, just like your paint, have a clear coat on them. As the suns beats on it week after week, the clear coat starts to deteriorate. Eventually what was the clear coat turns into an ugly yellow layer gunk.
Considering the heat that Arizona produces, your headlights are exposed to maximum heat- and if you park your car directly in the sun for most of the day, that’s only going to add to the damage. Because of the material of the headlights, the clear coat on them doesn’t last nearly as much as the clear coat on the paint.
How do I keep my headlights looking good?
It can be a bit tricky. Typical waxes and sealants will only protect your car for so long. If you park your car in the shade most of the time, then they’ll simply last longer than if you park outside in the sun most of the time.
You can apply a wax or sealant to your headlights every 3 to 5 weeks. This can take less than 15 minutes to do.
